Showing you the world from a different perspective

New camera, new photos :D

Blue-dropletYesterday I got the Nikon D3200. This is my big step into photography with dslr cameras as before i was using the Fujifilm Finepix S4300 which I cant lie is a brilliant bridge camera. But that just wasn’t enough, for me anyway…

This shot was taken with the Sigma 70 – 300m DG lens which is a great telephoto /macro lens except the fact it struggles to focus in low light. This can be solved by just using manual focus which in droplet photography is used anyway. If you would like a guide to start droplet photography head here to Bopbie’s tutorial:Β http://bopbiephotos.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/shooting-macro-droplet-photography/Β and also checkout his droplet work, they’re incredible!

    • Thanks πŸ˜€ don’t worry I’m no competition. no one can beat your droplet work! Im hoping to get a seascape soon when i go on holiday, Do you think the 18 – 55mm lens will do for that kind of shot? thanks

      • Please, you flatter me. Your work is just as good, if not better. Seascape would be great, and yeah 18 – 55 mm would work. I would suggest anything wide angle. Also, take your tripod and try long exposure with waves, it creates a very cool, ethereal effect. Have fun and I look forward to seeing the results!
